Breast Cancer in Man
When we are talking about breast cancer in man, actually it is same with breast cancer in women. Although, the breast cancer cases in man aren’t so many as breast cancer in woman, but this disease still must be guarded. If compared with women, the man has more little risk because man isn’t faced with late pregnant problem, drink contraception pill, not regular menstruation cycle and others. What factors will influence breast cancer risk in man?
Genetic
A man will get more big risk of cancer disease if there is a cancer history in his family include all kind of cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer also breast cancer. Genetic factor has 5-7% in whole factor that can cause cancer.
Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is a condition in a man where his milk gland keeps active. So he has breast.
Obesity
Obesity can increase many disease risks include cancer.
Age
Usually, breast cancer in man assault at more than 50 years old of age. But it is possible, the early stage of cancer occurs before a man in his 50th.
Unbalanced hormone
The dominant hormone in man is androgen. If the hormone balance is disturbed, the breast cancer risk will increase, because breast cancer is hormonal dependent (influenced by hormone activity). The unbalanced hormone can occur to them who have liver problem, like sirosis that can cause androgen activity decrease and estrogen increase.
Estrogenic medicine usage in long time
When the size is still relative small, the cancer network is a little protruding tumor behind the nipple that difficult to investigated just by hand. Because of its size, mammography can’t be treated at the man breast. So, breast cancer in man can be diagnosed with ultrasonography (USG) and biopsy (cancer cell citation investigation under the microscope). The therapy is same with breast cancer in women: operation, radiation and chemotherapy. When in early stage, breast cancer in man is more ease to cure. Usually if the protruding tumor size is still not more than 2 cm, breast cancer still can be cured. At least, when the size still about 5 cm, the patient must get treatment.The unhealthy life style, stress, alcohol, smoking, pollution and others are cancer trigger factors. For early detection, it is suggested for man more than 40 years old to do general check-up every year or at least every 3-4 years. When your age more than 40 years old, you must be careful when find ossify protrude behind the nipple.
